Garage Remodel - Part 4: Completion!

In the last few posts, we showed you how we started with a small one-car garage and took it through the various steps of turning it into a family den and small (but full) bathroom, with framing, wiring, plumbing and heating.

In this post, we'll look at the final phases that bring it all together to make it an outstanding project.

Insulation is added to ceiling, exterior walls and floors. Foam insulation is used in the exterior walls to bring up to the code required R-value.

The interior is then drywalled.

Once the shower unit is installed, bathroom gets moisture-resistant drywall (purple board) to help resist mold and mildew in wet locations.

Tape and spackle start to bring it all together. Then prime and paint.

Windows, doors and trim are next.

A vinyl floating floor is cost effective and looks attractive.

Bathroom vanity, mirror, lighting, toilet, baseboard heaters, and fixtures installed.

Interior Fit and Finish to put a final polish on the new space! It's gratifying to see everything come together into a beautiful finished product for one of our great customers.
