For this project, a long-time dear customer, who owns a 110 year-old farm-house, called us and needed their entire dining room gutted due to extensive water damage. After having a remediation company work to remove everything down to studs, we came in and made it better than new.
Starting with everything bare, we began with prepping the studs, addressing wiring issues, insulating, and installing drywall. Working with old framing can be challenging!
We then got to work hand making custom wainscot boards, routing tongue and grooves, prepping, staining and applying urethane to give the customer a new, yet "vintage" look. Window casings were custom made to match the original materials also.
Even taking care to ensure the storage door fit and matched the wainscot perfectly!
We had custom granite window sills cut and installed. Trimming them out with the custom jambs and casings to match.
The walls were textured with a special multi-step technique to have it look like the original plaster. , then painted. With everything back in place, this fully custom-renovated dining room is stunning, and offers a wonderfully warm and inviting place for meals and conversations for maybe another 110 years!
Every detail was thought of including the nook which also got a custom granite sill to match the windows.
The home-owners were quite thrilled with the end result, and I must say, so are we.
