Chimney chase repair-Part 1

We recently helped out a customer that had a wood framed chimney chase that was rotting out.
After opening it up we found extensive damage that stemmed from improper flashing at the roofline of the chimney. This caused water to penetrate the plywood(T1-11) and rot out some of the 2x4 framing, and even got into some of the 2x10 flooring joists that were supporting the fireplace.

We quickly came up with a plan to remediate the issue and ensure structural integrity and longevity.
