GOING GREEN

As we are all learning, there are many ways that we can protect our environment and provide sustainable resources for present and future generations. Kallatch Home Services endeavours to do business in a manner that is environmentally responsible and economically feasible.

Kallatch Home Services incorporates these practices into every project when appropriate/viable:

* RECYCLES scrap metals such as steel, copper, brass and aluminum; as well as old appliances.

* IMPROVE air and water quality by using LOW and NO-VOC paints, stains, solvents and cleaners.

* EDUCATE consumers and encourages the use of products that have sustainable components. One example now is the use of bamboo, wheat, and cocoa in flooring and other products. Products that reduce water and energy consumption are also promoted such as programmable thermostats and low-consumption toilets and faucets.

* USE safer products for home environment quality, such as "Low-VOC" paints and coatings, "Formaldehyde Free" fiberglass and cabinets, and cabinets that use "environmentally preferred" components.

* REUSE: We attempt to find "good homes" for materials and items remaining from remodeling projects that are still viable. This reduces the amount of material that ends up in land-fills, helps REDUCE the consumption of new products, and benefits someone in need.

* REDUCE paper consumption by utilizing electronic payment methods and document communication via email.

* DURABILITY - We provide craftsmanship that will endure, and use high quality materials so that long-term maintenance and energy-consumption are reduced. It pays to have it done right the first time.
