Repeal of the mandatory sprinkler law

4.18.11  The PA house and senate have voted to repeal the "Mandatory Sprinkler System" in new home construction ruling that took affect January 1, 2011.  The repeal is now on the governers desk for his signature.  The new legislation will require builders to offer new home customers the option of a sprinkler system, and also will require a basement ceiling to be covered with a one-half hour fire-rated material (1/2" drywall for example).  Will keep you updated as more is announced.
